DiversEAFy forms a New Collaboration with CircSmeltSteel

Making new connections and establishing synergies between projects is integral to achieving ambitious goals of innovation within the industry as a whole. DiversEAFy joins forces with CircSmeltSteel to aim towards a more sustainable future of steelmaking.

On 21 August, a meeting between DiversEAFy and CircSmeltSteel representatives took place to discuss and exchange ideas on ways the projects could work hand in hand to maximise their impact and achieve a shared goal of reaching a circular economy and supporting the transition of steelmaking to low-carbon production.

CircSmeltSteel is a project coordinated by K1-MET and funded under the European Union's Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under the Clean Steel Partnership, running from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029. The project is focused on making iron and steel production more circular and lower-carbon, in particular by finding ways to use metallurgical by-products and other secondary materials as feedstock instead of relying only on primary raw materials.

We are looking forward to embarking together on the journey of change and innovation in the steel industry.
